I feel anxious and unsure about what to do during a photoshoot. How can I overcome this feeling?I understand how you're feeling, as many women I've photographed have shared similar anxieties. I particularly enjoy photographing clients like you because it allows me to help them discover new possibilities. Throughout the photoshoot, I will guide you every step of the way – it's a collaborative effort. Also, I've realized that this feeling often stems from a fear of judgment. I want you to know that my sessions are a judgment-free zone. My aim is to encourage everyone to be themselves, focusing on connecting with their inner selves or hearts.

I understand the need for personal brand portraits, but I dislike seeing myself in pictures. What should I do?I completely understand, as I used to feel the same way about seeing myself in pictures. That's one reason why I chose to be behind the lens. However, in practicing my lighting and other technical skills, I often had to be my own model. I also realized that people weren’t taking me seriously because I lacked professional branding images. Something magical happened through this process. The more I worked with my own pictures during retouching, the more I began to like myself. A therapist friend of mine explained that this is a form of exposure therapy. Being constantly exposed to my own images helped me to embrace and accept myself. It became one of the most empowering experiences for me, especially since I had previously thought I couldn't be successful in my business, I told myself, "How can I put myself out there if I don't even like seeing myself in portraits?" Sometimes, our fear of judgment can be overwhelming, but I assure you, my sessions are a judgment-free zone. Facing this fear can be confronting, but it's an act of self-compassion. Learning to like yourself is a powerful step towards being relentless in following your dreams.

I don't consider myself photogenic and have never liked how my images turned out in the past. How can I ensure better results this time?Firstly, I'm sorry to hear that you've felt this way about your past images. I want to dispel a common myth: being 'photogenic' is not a real, fixed trait. Often, how we perceive ourselves in pictures is influenced by our own levels of perfectionism or self-love. What truly makes a photograph attractive is the energy it radiates. There's nothing more captivating than a photo of someone who exudes a love for life, and that's exactly what I aim to capture. Rest assured, guiding you through the process is one of my strengths. I specialize in posing techniques that will showcase your natural charm and personality, ensuring the photos reflect the best version of you.

A photoshoot feels vain and wasteful to me. Why do I need so many pictures of myself? You're not alone in feeling this way. In fact, I almost gave up on this passion myself because I felt I was offering something unnecessary. However, my perspective changed when I reviewed the positive feedback from everyone I photographed. It empowered them to see themselves in a different light, leading to improved self-perception and self-acceptance. Carol's story, in particular, touched me deeply. It made me wonder: at the end of our lives, what truly matters? Carol carried a vision of herself as a capable woman through her portraits as she battled cancer and faced her final moments. And my mom's story was what made me realize I was doing something meaningful, encouraging me to continue when I was close to quitting. Often, our hesitation towards photoshoots is influenced by cultural or social norms regarding modesty and self-presentation. Remember, your photoshoot doesn't have to be lavish; it's about the experience. This session isn't about vanity; it's about ensuring that you are represented authentically at the forefront of your brand and business.

I'm too busy juggling various responsibilities to find time for a photoshoot. What should I do?In today's fast-paced world, it's indeed challenging to keep up and find time for extra activities. I suggest evaluating the value this session could add to your life and pursuit. Often, when we realize the significance of something, we find ways to make time for it. However, it's not always about a busy schedule. Sometimes, avoidance can masquerade as busyness. I'm not sure if this applies to you, but it might be helpful to ask yourself: What am I really afraid of in doing this session? Through self-reflection and awareness, you may uncover some underlying reasons. Once you do, you can revisit this FAQ to see if there are answers that resonate with your self-discovery.

I'm worried about my pictures being shared on the internet. How do you ensure privacy? It's quite straightforward. Unless it's a model call, which I occasionally do for specific concepts intended for marketing and online sharing, please just let me know if you don't want your images shared online, and I will respect your wishes. I've had clients request this before, and I always honor their privacy preferences.

Do you have a studio, and where is it located?Would it concern you if I say I don’t have a traditional studio? Instead, I have a home studio equipped with beautiful lighting and a spacious shooting area. It includes a makeup area, a rest area where you can place your belongings, and more. It's a cozy and comfortable space, and I absolutely love photographing here. It’s in Acworth GA.

Is a personal brand session the right choice for me?I can't be entirely sure without knowing more about your specific needs. If you want to find out, please fill out the questionnaire, and let's schedule a phone call to discuss it. During the call, we can assess where you are at and determine if a full personal brand portrait session is right for you. If not, you also have the option to sign up for a headshot day.

I'm skilled at taking selfies. Why should I have a session with you? While taking selfies is a great way to capture moments, a professional photoshoot offers a different level of expertise and quality. I bring technical knowledge in lighting, composition, and posing, which can significantly enhance the way you are portrayed in images. A professional session allows for a more polished and sophisticated representation, tailored to your personal brand and vision. Additionally, it provides you with high-quality images that can be used for various professional purposes, where a selfie might not be the most appropriate choice. My goal is to capture not just a moment, but the essence of who you are, in a way that selfies simply can't achieve. This session is an investment in your personal brand, giving you a set of images that elevate your professional presence and communicate your story with depth and elegance.

What is the first step to working with you, and how do I book a session?Great question! To start working with me, the first step is to understand the entire process from booking to delivery. Please refer to the earlier question titled 'Walk me through the whole process from booking to delivery.' This will give you a comprehensive overview of how to book a session and what to expect. If you have any further questions after that, feel free to reach out!

Do you offer professional hair and makeup services?Yes, we offer professional hair and makeup services to ensure you look your best for the photoshoot. Our experienced stylists work closely with you to create a look that enhances your natural beauty and aligns with your personal brand.

Can you make me look thin and pretty in the photos?I understand this question might bring a smile, but it's indeed one that I often receive. The answer is both yes and no. Yes, because I use slimming posing techniques, and retouching can further enhance the image. Makeup also plays a crucial role in achieving the desired look. Retouching is outsourced to a skilled professional and is available at an additional cost, particularly for requests that exceed standard adjustments. Although I believe the most captivating aspect of your portraits is the energy they convey, especially when they reflect a love for life, I respect everyone’s preference in how they wish to be portrayed. This could involve heavy makeup, concealing certain features, or other specific requests. Remember, this is a judgment-free zone. Self-acceptance is a journey, and it's perfectly okay to acknowledge if you're not there yet. I am committed to respecting each client’s individual choices, without imposing any predefined standards of beauty or self-acceptance. I want you to be truly happy with your images, so my sincere request is for you to be open and honest with me about any body parts that you feel self-conscious about. Feeling this way is completely normal, and having this knowledge allows me to tailor the photoshoot to your comfort and preferences.

Any final tips?Open Communication: Maintain open and honest communication with your photographer about your preferences, concerns, and expectations. This helps in personalizing your session to best suit your needs. Preparation: Dedicate time to prepare for your session. Ensure you're well-rested – beauty sleep can really make a difference. Consider getting your nails done and choosing a hairstyle that photographs well. Also, think about any props or special items you'd like to include to make your session more personalized and meaningful. Focus on Your Energy: During the photoshoot, focus more on your energy and the emotions you want to convey rather than solely on your physical appearance. The camera captures not just images, but the essence and mood of the moment. A genuine smile, a look of confidence, or a moment of thoughtfulness often make for the most powerful and memorable photographs. Relax and Be Yourself: Try to relax and be yourself during the photoshoot. Authenticity shines in photos, so don’t worry about trying to be perfect. Trust the Professional: Trust your photographer's expertise. They have the skills and experience to guide you through the process and capture stunning images. Feedback During the Session: Don’t hesitate to provide feedback or ask questions during the session. If something doesn’t feel right, speak up. Enjoy the Experience: Remember to enjoy the experience. A photoshoot is not just about the result, but also about the fun and unique experience of the session itself. Post-Session Patience: After the photoshoot, be patient while waiting for the final images. Professional editing and retouching take time, but the wait is usually worth it. Reflect on the Outcome: Once you receive your images, take the time to reflect on the outcome. Appreciate how the photos represent you and your personal brand. Provide Feedback: After the session, provide feedback to your photographer. It’s valuable for their future work and helps them understand what worked best for you. Share Your Experience: If you’re happy with the results, consider sharing your experience with others. Positive word-of-mouth can be incredibly beneficial for photographers.
